California's bill against junk science

As many arrived to support the protection of children and women from child abuse and violence, so were those who seeked to continue its reign.  Much to be considered about the motivations of those who wish to use a junk science theory that is well known to harm children and cause hatred towards women.  Much debate raged on as even with some agreement on the need to protect children, the opposing suggested that Sexual and Physical abuse be removed so that it just states, "Abuse".  This was intended to include psychological abuse.  The consequences of this would be converting a useful bill aimed at protecting children to a bill that perpetrators could still peddle Parent Alienation or Parent Alienation Syndrome as a form of psychological abuse.  The current status of children in the family court remains that what is referred to as, "psychological abuse" nullifies the underlying factors of child abuse and violence.  The psychological abuse whilst it may be useful in further describing intimate partner terrorism and the strategies that are used to maintain control, there is still a real danger that this could be used against women and children.  The mimic, a movie about a predator that mimics its prey best describes how human predators continue to violate children and women's rights to be free from torture.

Alienation: Who is Alienating Who?

Janelle Burrill is a major assailant in Americas Parent Alienation Scandal(PAS) .  One of the most major rationales that defies the pseudo syndrome logic is the fact that mothers are the ones who are not only alienated from their loved ones, but from the rest of the community as "Vindictive women".  How and why?  One may ask and this very post will unfold one of the biggest family violence scandals of our times.  We all know that violence against women occurs to one in three women at least once in their lifetime.  Thats obvious.  We see the deaths in the news  and hear about it from our love ones.  There appears to be bizarre perception that country leaders are actually taking steps to curb these numbers and educate the community about how wrong family violence is.  There is a big hole in all of this and the only way it comes to light is when women goes through this with children .  This has become a revelation that mothers and children all over the world are now writing their hearts out about. Some write about it with raw emotions and others write about it trying to fill the gaps of information as to why a system that they have been taught would work for them in due fairness has failed them and their children miserably.  Some appeared to have gone mad with conspiracy theories and fanatical religious beliefs.  When asked about what happened, their lives were conveyed in a logical and rational manner that appeared to veer into this world of injustice and lack of information. The missing information breaks through the notion of trust we lay upon systematic approaches, professionals and the present laws, it rocks our core beliefs upon natural justice, human compassion and experts in psychology.  For most it is a new ground to discover that what we thought existed does not.  We cannot know why such cruelty has continued at the hands of Judges, Officials and Professionals, but we can tell you a little about what drives them to believe that this cruelty is the work of "good".

Lets go back to some basics about knowledge and how it influences our day to day decisions.  We clean our dishes with hot water, utilize disinfectants to arm ourselves against microscopic creatures that make us sick.  We can only see these creatures in a microscope and trust what we are told that they can make us sick.  The only people that know the truth are those of whom have had the privilege and equipment to test this out.  We are dependent upon this knowledge and coax others who do not practice such methods to conform to this action.  Some may even hold the person with contempt that a person would provide a dish cleaned without these measures taken.  Laws have been built around these measures to ensure that restaurants also take these measures too.  Hot water and disinfectant is considered a necessity in preparing our food and the news about sickness from bacterial infections continue to satisfy this belief to be true, despite the fact that a majority of the population has not physically sighted bacteria causing harm to a living being.  We trust that this is true. So what if it was all a big fat lie? What if you found that the bacteria that you had been disinfecting against was a natural resource to stop you from becoming infected?  What if this lie was told for financial gain?

So one would begin to rethink and wonder what else is a lie and how many others were told and most importantly, what is true? Some people might feel that there is a high probability of truth to something if a large proportion of the population believes it.  An old saying said mostly by mothers to their children,

"If everybody decided to jump in the oven, would you do it?"

So lets modernize this term,

"If everybody decided to rip children away from their mothers, would you do it?"

If it was put in this way, the answer is "No".

Perhaps if it was put in a more friendly way,

"If everybody decided that children need their fathers, would you support it?"

We all know that not all fathers are good to their children, so the answer is, "Maybe"

Perhaps some sales language could help.

"If everybody decided that children need both parents, would you support it?"

That sounds fair and nice, we are not worried about the missing pieces of information as we expect there to be some real antidotes with such language, so the answer is "yes".

So what happens if one of the parents does not comply ?  If it is unreasonable, we expect there to be some sort of assistance to remove some of the barriers that stops that person from complying.  If the parent is abusing the child we expect that the agreement be altered so that the child is not at risk of harm.  That is not an unreasonable request.
We expect that if the parent was being violent to the other that their safety would also be protected too.

"Most mothers lie about violence to get full custody and child support payments".

We cannot see what goes on, so this could happen and after seeing how they uncover evidence on all of those crime shows that must be the problem.  There is no evidence and has ever been such evidence to suggest that.
Then we see the experts who have been explaining away the mentally ill to what appears to have some truth to it backed by the credentials they have who tell us,

"Some mothers are affected by a condition called Parent Alienation Syndrome where they project their hatred towards the father onto the child, she may be resentful for past violence against her"

"Children affected by Parental Alienation Syndrome make allegations against the other parent mostly the father"

Not only is there no physical evidence of this, but it is a theory that has not been accepted by any credible scientific organization in the world.  Testing for the abuse is also considered a form of abuse which is referred to as, "Medical Abuse" .  Concerns for harm of the child being investigated have resulted in court orders that restrain the mother from taking the child to practitioners and counsellors.  So now any investigation into child abuse or family violence can be halted.  The law changes combined with practice principles have moulded together an oppressive collaboration to contain any evidence the mother has and halt any intentions of supporting justice for the child/victim of violence in order to stop this imaginary syndrome .

Meet Bob: Your average FR Joe

Bob Allen is a typical Fathers Rights Member that argues against everything that is female claiming it to be from feminist origin.  In reality, feminist have little to do with divorce and more to do with women in the workforce and leadership.  This is because most feminists are not mothers and do not have children.  Occasionally the issue comes up, but that is because it is a women's rights issue, but not as prevalent as the stoning of women and girls.  The reactions of some of the women involved are rightful and natural.  It would be bizarre if there were not outrage at some of these practices.  Whilst we endeavor to pursue some sort of logic as to why these men are angry, there has been no justifiable reasoning that would give cause to such rage.

"The ages old common marriage age is about 16 for females and 26 or later for men....Recent feminist fiction about "same age" is nonsense that hurts young women and furthers the feminist goal of destroying" Yahoo Answers

Bob is also racist:

"I get tired of the racist crap. Black people have always been at the center of slavery management. For several hundred years, black slave raiders preyed on European villages. An estimated 1,000,000 white Europeans were captured and sold into slavery in black Africa. When white Europe eventually became powerful enough to fend off the African slavers, the African slave traders competed to sell slaves to European buyers. In the US before the Civil War, there were an estimated 10,000 black slave OWNERS.

Pretending that slavery was ever about "black people slaves" is racist hate, and that's all that it is. Being female is not an excuse for
racist anti-white hate." bobx23456

Bob believes in killing estranged wives:

"Dead wives don't get custody. The Bible and other major religions teach that wives who practice adultary and other similar sins should be stoned to deah or put to death. Feminism has turned over the age old truths of life and made honorable husbands into villains, when it is the evil abusive adulterous wife who is the villain. She should be put to death. Men who take strong manly action, like OJ Simpson, should be our heros. Adulterous Nicole Simpson does not have custody."  Glenn Sacks

Bob is against step fathers:
"There are no "father figures." There are only fathers. The rest are just mother's latest fuck."

Bob Believes in violence against women:
"Non violence never works with these evil misandrist hate mongers....Don't just fall down and let them destroy you.  Be a MAN and go down
fighting for your rights and for the rights of MEN!" A Kids Right

Of course, FR leaders can always wriggle out with disassociation and claim that all of the "Bobs" are a minority, apart from the same ideals dressed up to appear less vulgar.  What they cannot deny is the fact that this type of hate is all to common and the ideals that FRs represent that attract these kinds of men.  Leaders of these groups know all too well that if they were to clean up their networks of abusive men, there would be no one left to support them.  So the saga continues where such things are either swept under the carpet whilst more strategies are developed to conceal these attitudes from public view.  It would be easy to count for one bad apple, but two, three one hundred or more?  To consider that such attitudes would go unnoticed, is to assume that the majority lack intelligence and morale.

Long Term Harm: Breaking The Maternal Bond

Some research suggests that the breaking of the maternal bond leads to schizophrenia, drug dependancy and learning difficulties.  Many articles on the subject of the maternal bond in nearly all cases demonstrated the adverse outcomes of the broken bond.  It is comparable to the interference with mother earth, the consumption of her resources and breaking the bond with the potential for future life.  In other words, it is messing with the natural world as we know it and the future lives of others.  When I refer to the linkage between the destruction of nature and the destruction of human nature, I do not shy away from the instigator of it all: Patriarchy.

Men have historically, but not naturally been in charge and whilst the same speak intended to liberate the women has been used to shy us all away from the fact that it was men who did this.  In pursuit of greed and power, our earth as we know it is crumbling beneath our feet.  Once abundant water, air and land resources are now becoming a scarce resource.  Patriarchy is now scrambling for the only control left: Children.  The purpose of course is to indoctrinate patriarchy, a great white lie into our children in hope that they do not open their eyes to learn the truth of the evils that have been done here on a massive scale.    If patriarchy succeeds in confiscating the next generation, all is lost for life as we know it.  We are going to have a generation of disturbed young people in the midst of a crisis.  The breaking of the maternal bond is the last evil perpetrated against nature and one that must be stopped as the intention behind this is certainly not love.  The intention is purely selfish.

Of human bonding: newborns prefer their mothers' voices

AJ DeCasper and WP Fifer

By sucking on a nonnutritive nipple in different ways, a newborn human could produce either its mother's voice or the voice of another female. Infants learned how to produce the mother's voice and produced it more often than the other voice. The neonate's preference for the maternal voice suggests that the period shortly after birth may be important for initiating infant bonding to the mother.

Abstract

Prolonged maternal deprivation leads to long-term alterations in hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis activity, disturbances of auditory information processing and neurochemical changes in the adult brain, some of which are similar to that observed in schizophrenia. Here we report the adult behavioural effects of maternal deprivation (12 h on postnatal days 9 and 11) in Wistar rats on paradigms of auditory information processing (prepulse inhibition), sensitivity to dopamimetics (amphetamine-induced hyper-locomotion) and cognition (T-maze delayed alternation and Morris water-maze). In addition, we examined the long-lasting effect of chronic 21-day corticosterone treatment during the post-pubertal period (i.e., postnatal days 56–76) on each of these behavioural paradigms in maternally deprived and control rats. Behavioural testing commenced 2 weeks after the termination of corticosterone treatment. Maternal deprivation led to a significant reduction in PPI and impaired spatial learning ability in adulthood, but did not affect the behavioural response to amphetamine. Post-pubertal chronic corticosterone treatment did not have any major long-lasting effects on any of the behavioural measures in either maternally deprived or control rats. Our findings further support maternal deprivation as an animal model of specific aspects of schizophrenia.

Maternal Deprivation Increases Vulnerability to Morphine Dependence and Disturbs the Enkephalinergic System in Adulthood

Maternal deprivation can trigger long-lasting molecular and cellular modifications in brain functions and might facilitate the appearance of pathogenic behaviors. This study focuses on the vulnerability to develop morphine dependence in adult rats that were separated from their mother and littermates for 3 h per day for 14 d after birth and examines the adaptive changes in the enkephalinergic pathways. Place-preference conditioning was observed with 2 mg/kg morphine in deprived rats, whereas 5 mg/kg morphine was necessary to induce conditioning in nondeprived animals. A prolonged morphine conditioning was shown in deprived rats. A strong increase in oral morphine self-administration behavior and preference was observed in deprived rats. Only a very slight increase in preference for sucrose solution, a more ethological reinforcer known to interact with the opioid system, was shown in deprived rats. These results indicate that this postnatal environment change leads to a hypersensitivity to the reinforcing properties of morphine and to the development of morphine dependence. A significant decrease in preproenkephalin mRNA expression was observed in the nucleus accumbens and the caudate-putamen nucleus of deprived rats. The basal extracellular levels of the Met-enkephalin-like immunoreactivity in the nucleus accumbens were significantly lower in deprived rats when compared with nondeprived animals, whereas no change in µ-opioid receptor binding occurred. These results strongly support that maternal deprivation leads to a basal hypoactivity of the enkephalinergic system and hypersensitivity to morphine effects.

Together, our results suggest that maternal deprivation in pups likely represents a risk factor for morphine dependence in adult rats.

This paper will suggest that the Down syndrome phenotype would have been well suited, physiologically, for a deprived environment and that it may represent a predictive, adaptive response to severe maternal deprivation. A trisomy of the 21st chromosome, prior to, or at conception is responsible for Down syndrome and is known to increase in incidence with advanced maternal age. One out of 11 mothers over the age of 50 conceives a Down syndrome baby, compared to one in one thousand at age 30. This article emphasizes that an older mother is more likely to die before she is able to provide the parental investment necessary to produce an ecologically self-sufficient offspring. Prolonged maternal investment is known to be essential for hunter-gatherers to master the skill intensive food procurement techniques that they will need in order to become independent of their mothers. Because Down syndrome individuals are much more likely to be born to older mothers, they must have been routinely deprived of maternal investment in the human environment of evolutionary adaptedness. This consistent paring of maternal deprivation to trisomy 21 conceptions, over time, may have caused natural selection to favor genes responsible for the energy conserving traits seen in modern day Down syndrome. These traits include muscle hypotonia, decreased cerebral metabolism, decreased hippocampal volume, a strong propensity for obesity and growth hormone and thyroid hormone paucity. Such a "thrifty phenotype" may have allowed Down syndrome individuals to become independent of their mothers at a far earlier age and allowed them to forgo the skill intensive ecological niche that non-trisomic humans are phenotypically suited for in order to take up a less cognitively and physically rigorous one.

BOULDER, Colo. — Philip F. DiLeo's wife and son were victims of his violent temper long before he fatally shot them and himself Monday, friends of the Boulder family said Thursday.

Philip Christopher DiLeo, 23, was a normal, sweet and bright teen who loved basketball and inspired his friends to do better in school, said Forest Summers, of Longmont, who was one of Christopher DiLeo's best friends when they both attended Boulder High seven years ago. DiLeo's biggest struggles in life, Summers said, were his parents' constant fighting, their overbearing drive to control his life and his father's violent temper.

"I witnessed his dad freaking out almost every other time we were there," Summers said. "His mom and dad would be screaming, and you would hear yelling in the house."

Summers said he eventually began telling his friend that something was wrong with his parents.

"At one point, one of our friend's mom offered to take in Chris and let him live at her house for a while," he said.

But a friend of Christopher DiLeo's mother, Elizabeth Schwarzenbach-DiLeo, 63, said she too lived in fear of her husband — who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and went on and off his medications. In 2005, according to Boulder police, Schwarzenbach-DiLeo went to police to check into the legality of buying a gun, telling an officer her husband had threatened her.

Despite his marital strife, DiLeo — a former firefighter and Boulder police officer — continued living at his family's 2403 Bluff St. home, where police found the three bodies Tuesday.

Police suspect Philip F. DiLeo, 61, fatally shot his wife Monday in the home's kitchen, where a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun was found. Then he killed his son and himself upstairs, where investigators found a .357 Magnum revolver.

Summers, Christopher DiLeo's high-school friend, said he's seen the father brandish a gun before. In high school, Summers said, he and a friend were trying to get Christopher's attention late one night by throwing a tennis ball at his window, which infuriated DiLeo.

"His dad came out with a gun and pointed it at us and started screaming at us," Summers said.

Although the teens and their parents, who knew the family had troubles, said they never expected a fatal explosion, Summers said some people regret never intervening.

"I was talking to my friend's mom, and the first thing she said was, 'I never thought anything like this would happen, but we should have reported the parents a long time ago,'" Summers said. "It was against our better judgment not to. But we had no idea this would happen."

'Out of his mind'

Summers said he and his friends "all loved" Christopher DiLeo, and wanted to protect him when it became clear he was living in a turbulent environment.

"We came to his house to pick him up one time and there was a loud crash," Summers said. "I asked what happened, and he said his dad just smashed a computer with a baseball bat just because he was angry."

Another time, Philip F. DiLeo got mad at his son's friends for borrowing $20 from Christopher, Summers said. Because they couldn't pay it back that day, Summers said, DiLeo took some things from the teen's car. Read More

Domestic Violence: Barring her from fleeing

What is well discussed in the public arena is child abduction and international custody disputes often in sympathy of the father.  What is not often discussed is that a lot of reasons why a mother may need to move .  It is natural for anyone to flee if their lives and their children's lives are in danger.  It is why we have shelters, asylum seeker provisions and safe houses.  It is a well known fact that not only do we unfortunately have human beings on this earth that terrorize children and women, but one third of women on this planet are affected by violence.  There is no argument that such atrocities occur.  There is no argument that some of these result in deaths that if it were not in the family home, it would be a genocide on women and children.

What there has been an argument on is the family court population and whether that differs from the general population data.    The reason why there has been such an argument is that these courts are closed and there are strict laws and guidelines that refrain the media from reporting on the cases.  What is controversial is the cases that are released favor the court.  whatever appears to be politically attractive, is what makes it to the news.  What makes it to the news is often the fathers rights agenda.

When I refer to fathers rights, I refer to the patriarchal intention.  This intention does not include equality, children's rights.  It is just about the mens rights above all others, the way things were in the eighteenth century.  It has been a revelation that was initially acknowledged  from domestic violence advocates, child abuse advocates and the women and children who were directly affected.  Men who did not conform to the eighteenth century father model were also affected.

The people that promoted this model and imposed it on others were internal to the family courts.  They worked hand in hand with the shared parenting councils, children rights councils and fathers rights groups.  The external groups were sometimes operated by the same presidents and secretaries of each other.  Each had the same goal: Enforce Patriarchy above all other rights.  The strategies they used were brutal and some groups were classified as terrorists.  Children who spoke out against the abuse were portrayed as alienated and needed to be "cured" by being removed from the protective parent.  They were acts that sound so absurd to be occurring in democratic western countries.  Women's Rights in the public domain has become the norm as women work and achieve leadership positions and are heard regularly as an equal figure in the media. Fathers rights dominated the public domain to paint a view that the court was overly feministic and negative toward fathers.  After reviewing many cases dating back to the 1980s, it was clear that fathers were heard above mothers in most cases, even when there was more evidence presented from the mothers side.

The reason for this was the use of Parent Alienation Syndrome, a theory coined by Dr Richard Gardner who successfully distributed self published books focusing on false allegations to begin with, recommending harmful therapies such as, "threat therapy" and "de - programming".  What is disturbing was that he was not just referring to false allegations, but promoted the idea that child sex abuse was normal and society had taken a negative view upon it.  The major problem in his books referred to "the accusing mother"  who was "sick" and hysterical.

Why many therapists, counsellors and lawyers supported such a notorious theory is related to ruthless greed and lack of compassion for victims of such abuses.  His books did very well to comfort common ethical concerns with statements that conveyed that it was healing and therapeutical compared to the damage of false allegations.  Domestic violence victims were also targeted as alienators for their potential to hold resentment toward the perpetrator, also known as mostly the father.

So began a great wall between victims and their freedom of these abuses.  Perpetrators had discovered the legal gateway to continuing the control and abuses toward their victims with many blanket labels to cover what they were truly doing.  Suddenly it became illegal to survive domestic violence and child abuse as the choices narrowed as resources diminished with the diversion of these movements.  Some survivors were painted as "abductors" of the children they endeavored to protect and murder suicides were blamed upon "fatherlessness" or mental health.  There was never any real responsibility towards the damage to survivors or concern for the children, just a tunnel view for the grab of control.
Church leaders elevated their status, promoting every man as the head of the family, regardless of their criminal history.  They supported the new marriage contract renamed, "Shared Parenting" and thus promoted it regardless of the violence.  Counsellors cashed in with little obligation to the victims in offering to "cure" domestic violence in mediation settings whilst promoting it was somehow an "equal" situation and not something to separate over.  Degrading victims of violence became the trend.  We now have a generation of increasingly traumatized young people and adults of some who have gone on to continue the cycle whilst others have been dragged through it.
Relocation in Family Court cases severely impairs the survivors to reach an adequate level of safety and distance to heal.
The logic of fear is that naturally it is our alarm warning system, it alerts us to detect the danger and to either peacefully  remove oneself and the children from the danger or seek to eliminate the danger.  We see this in all animals as we do in the history of human behavior.  When the danger is present over a long period of time and the alarm warning system is overexerted, the cost of trauma begins to set in.  The mind and body is exhausted and translates into mental illnesses as a confused antidote for the trauma.  It may translate into an anxiety disorder(panic attacks for no reason), phobias(the fear is diverted towards other day to day surroundings),  depression(exhaustion of the system that the sense become dulled altogether) and psychosis(the escape that never happened becomes healing but not real and over a period of time fantasy becomes a habit and state of existence).  The effects of this are evidential in the growing population of mothers and children, but often perverted to again suit the needs of the perpetrator establishing a reason for yet more control over the child and mother.  Many labels have been accepted to describe these experiences, yet they are also mixed in with labels that encourage further damage to the victims, which is why I prefer to steer this to more experiential terms of human understanding and logic.

Pharmaceutical companies would have you believe that some of these human conditions are irreparable.  From experience and knowledge, I can tell you that I disagree.  Being able to remove oneself from the life crisis and find ones own sense of healing, it can be done.  It cannot be done in an environment of fear and trying to parent under these circumstances is very difficult.  The freedom to move away from volatile situations like these is a very important antidote and one that needs to be granted.  If the true focus is on the best interests of the children, then there needs to be not only a culture of transparency, but also of genuine concern for the children and their mother.  In cases where the mother is the harmer, then other family members who can provide a secure home environment need to be taken into account before foster care is considered.  It is not always the case that foster care is the best option and sometimes has become a reason why members of the community have become hesitant at reporting.  Unfortunately, some carers have also been abusive and in many cases are not always accepting of the child as a family member is.  Attachment disorder, another pseudo scientific diagnosis that has little evidence base to credit the findings has been used to discredit abuses that occur in foster homes and institutionalized care.  Whilst there are many behaviors that are common with foster children that are not common with other children, it is more a reaction to the treatment and learned behaviors as a result of experience.  Most of these behaviors are trauma related and sometimes triggers from the prejudices of foster children in general.  Sadly some carers take on the responsibility to appear charitable, but are not emotionally intelligent enough to truly understand what it means to nurture a child that might have lacked that in the past.  We often see this in politicians biographies prior election and in business profiles.  What we don't see is what goes on behind closed doors and the experiences of children in care.  Sometimes it can be a treatment worst than the cure.
